Baghdad: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Bilateral Relations, Ambassador Mohammed Hussein Bahr al-Ulum, convened a meeting at the Ministry's headquarters with the security committee of the Joint Planning Group with the Republic of Turkey. This meeting was pivotal in following up on the efforts of the technical and security committee, which is dedicated to coordinating between the two nations under the Permanent Joint Security Committee (Iraqi-Turkish). This initiative stems from the 2024 Joint Strategic Agreement established between Iraq and Turkey.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement indicating that the meeting was attended by representatives from the Prime Minister's Office and various ministries, including Interior, Defense, and Migration and Displaced Persons. Also present were the Military Industrialization Authority, advisors, and specialized officials from relevant departments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The discussions centered around mechanisms for joint cooperation, the implementation of agreements and memoranda of understanding, and the coordination of efforts among Iraqi institutions involved in the committee's work. The aim is to enhance border security and develop technical cooperation with Turkey, all within the framework of bilateral agreements and joint understandings.

During the meeting, Ambassador Bahar Al-Uloom stressed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' dedication to activating joint action paths. This commitment is seen as a means to achieve the national interest and unify government efforts in line with the state's vision of strengthening Iraq's relations with its neighboring countries.
