Baghdad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is addressing the status of unoccupied properties owned by the ministry in foreign countries. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the committee responsible for managing these foreign properties, formed under Diwani Order No. (79) of 2025, recently convened for its regular meeting. This meeting was chaired by Dr. Ahmed Nayef Rashid Al-Dulaimi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Administrative and Technical Affairs, and included representatives from relevant ministries and a specialized ministerial team. The main purpose was to discuss the actions taken regarding the implementation of past recommendations.

The Ministry revealed in a press release that the committee assessed the current condition of these unoccupied properties and explored ways to secure the financial resources necessary for their rehabilitation and maintenance. The focus was on ensuring these properties are occupied, protected, and preserved. The committee chairman highlighted the need for enhanced coordination between the ministry's headquarters and Iraqi diplomatic missions abroad. This coordination aims to ensure ongoing monitoring and effective management of the properties, thereby serving the public interest and safeguarding Iraq's national assets overseas.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to develop a follow-up schedule. This schedule will be used to review the progress of the initiatives and implement necessary measures based on the committee's recommendations.
