Ministry of Interior Issues Warning Against Price Manipulation and Hoarding

Baghdad: The Ministry of Interior has issued a stern warning against exploiting the current situation to manipulate prices or monopolize goods and commodities. The Ministry emphasized that such actions, aimed at taking advantage of regional events, are closely monitored and punishable by law. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry highlighted that some individuals have been attempting to exploit the circumstances by manipulating prices or hoarding goods and commodities. These actions are considered greedy and are severely punishable, especially as the Ministry had previously warned against such practices with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan. The Ministry urged citizens to cooperate fully with security forces and to report any instances of exploitation or hoarding by contacting the hotline at 911. It reassured the public that the relevant authorities, particularly the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime within the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency, are vigilant and ready to act against these offenders, who will face imprisonment.
