Anbar: The Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of four suspects and the seizure of weapons, money, and various materials in Anbar province. In a statement, the Ministry said, “Under the supervision and direction of the Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Hussein al-Awadi, the Anbar Provincial Police Command, in conjunction with a force from the Iraqi Army, conducted a security operation to search and inspect the al-Hidayah neighborhood in the Rawah district, as part of ongoing efforts to pursue wanted individuals and enhance security and stability.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect in possession of an identification card belonging to members of the ISIS terrorist group, as well as the detention of three female suspects who had returned from the al-Jada’a camp. All four were detained by judicial order under Article (4) of the Counter-Terrorism Law and referred to the relevant authorities to complete the investigative and legal procedures.
The statement added: “The searches resulted in the seizure of a 9mm pistol, pistol magazines, various ammunition, 45,470,000 Iraqi dinars, 800 US dollars, 51 mobile phones, 45 different SIM cards, two ATMs, 156 pistol rounds, 11 M4 rifle rounds, and an empty BKC ammunition belt and container. The statement continued: “The seized items also included 102 CDs, various electronic, computer, laboratory, and medical equipment and supplies, a money counting machine used in currency exchange, a sonar device, vehicle registration documents and records, various religious books, and old Iraqi currency dating back to the era of the former regime, in addition to other materials that were seized and properly documented. Official seizure reports were prepared for all the items, and the necessary legal measures were taken against the accused, who were referred, along with the seized items, to the competent authorities to complete the investigations.” In accordance with the law.
