Ministry of Justice Releases 1,000 Inmates Under General Amnesty Law

Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice has announced the release of 1,000 inmates who were covered by the General Amnesty Law. This development follows the completion of all necessary legal procedures and the issuance of final judicial decisions.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this initiative was facilitated through the exceptional efforts of the Iraqi Correctional Service along with its specialized legal committees. These entities worked in coordination with the Supreme Judicial Council, which has been diligently operating around the clock to enforce judicial rulings issued by competent courts under the General Amnesty Law.

The Ministry clarified that the reported number of released inmates is up to date as of Sunday, April 6, 2025.
