Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice announced on Sunday the release of 124 juveniles during the month of February. The announcement signifies a concerted effort by the authorities to manage juvenile cases with a focus on rehabilitation and reintegration into society.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry specified that the juveniles released were categorized into three groups: 48 detained juveniles were released, 32 were released after serving their sentences, and 44 were released on parole. The parole releases were attributed to good behavior and successful completion of approved rehabilitation programs, which were recommended by the Social Research Division and approved by the competent judicial authorities.

The Ministry affirmed its commitment to the professional and responsible management of juvenile cases. It highlighted the ongoing efforts of the Juvenile Reform Department in meticulously monitoring inmates' files and ensuring that both legal and humanitarian procedures are followed in the release process.
