Ministry of Justice Releases 607 Inmates in August


Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice announced on Wednesday the release of 607 inmates during the month of August in Baghdad and several other provinces.



According to Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the ministry indicated that the Iraqi Corrections Department released 607 inmates during the month of August in Baghdad and several other provinces. The statement detailed that of those released, 461 inmates were freed under various judicial decisions, while 146 inmates were covered by the general amnesty law.



The ministry affirmed that the Iraqi Correctional Service continues to follow up and implement release procedures after completing all legal requirements. This process is conducted in accordance with approved legal frameworks and reflects the ministry’s commitment to performing its professional and humanitarian duty with the highest levels of accuracy and responsibility.
