Ministry of Justice Releases Over Two Thousand Inmates in June


Baghdad: The Ministry of Justice announced that a total of 2,195 inmates were released by the Iraqi Correctional Service throughout June. This figure includes releases from both Baghdad and other governorates.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry detailed that 375 of these inmates were released on parole, through discretionary decisions, or because their sentences had expired. The remaining 1,819 inmates were released under the General Amnesty Law.



The Ministry emphasized that the Correctional Service is dedicated to maintaining a stringent release mechanism, ensuring that all legal procedures are thoroughly completed. This commitment is part of its duty to uphold legal standards and operate with professionalism.
