Baghdad: The Ministry of Oil has emphasized the importance of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) adhering to the Constitution, as well as complying with decisions made by the Federal Court and existing laws, including the General Budget Law. The law mandates that the KRG hand over oil produced from its fields to the Federal Ministry of Oil. This is intended for export purposes and to ensure that the revenues contribute to the public treasury.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Oil has repeatedly communicated with the KRG through official correspondence and delegations, emphasizing the urgency and continuity of this matter. Despite these efforts, the Ministry reports that there has been no progress in achieving compliance from the regional government.
