Baghdad: The Ministry of Planning discussed the preparation of the budget for the next three years.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated that a meeting was held to deliberate on the budget framework for 2026 through 2028. This meeting was chaired by Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, Maher Hammad Johan, and involved directors general, department heads, and representatives from relevant departments within the Ministry.

The discussions centered around the general framework for the budget of 2026 and the planning for subsequent years. Key topics included ongoing and new loans, proposed projects for budget inclusion, and the provisions and development projects under the Chinese framework agreement.

The meeting also involved preparing suitable scenarios for the 2026 budget, which will be submitted to decision-makers for approval based on developmental and economic priorities.
