Basra:The Ministry of Transport has announced that the designs for the “Development Road” project are nearing completion, with an expected full completion by the end of the year. The project is set to launch next year and aims to create over one million jobs, with 100,000 jobs generated during its first phase.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Ali Al-Khalidi, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, stated that the design completion rate for the railway component of the Development Road project has surpassed 95%, while the highway component’s completion rate is at 92%.
The Development Road project is described as a strategic plan intended for the long-term benefit of Iraq and future generations. The first phase of the project is scheduled to conclude by 2033 and will begin at the Grand Faw Port in Basra.
