MoH Destroys Approximately 238 Kilograms of Drugs

Basra: The Ministry of Health announced the destruction of approximately 238 kilograms of drugs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry added in a statement that it destroyed 99,323 tablets, including narcotics and psychotropic substances, 18,659 drops, and 23,840 ml of liquids, in the Forensic Medicine Department in Basra Governorate.

It explained, "This destruction came under the supervision and follow-up of the Minister of Health, Dr. Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi, Chairman of the Supreme National Authority for Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, and in the presence of Judge Osama Dakhel Salman, Chairman of the Drug Destruction Committee in Basra, Director General of the Basra Health Department, Dr. Abbas Al-Tamimi, and a representative of the Governor of Basra and Rapporteur of the Supreme National Authority for Drugs and Psychotropic Substances, Dr. Zaman Mahmoud Jassim, and all members of the competent committee."
