MoH: The Increase In Number Of Vaccinators Led To A Decrease In Critical And Severe Cases, And Entering A New Wave Of Corona Is A Possible

Baghdad The Ministry of Health reassured the citizens of the stability of the daily epidemiological situation, while confirming that the increase in the number of vaccinated people led to a decrease in critical and severe cases inside hospitals.

A member of the media medical team of the Ministry of Health, Ruba Falah Hassan, stated, in a statement to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA), that “the stability of the epidemiological situation in the number of infections and deaths and the increase in recovery cases does not prevent us from warning of the possibility of entering the country in another new wave despite the decrease in infections, and it is possible at any moment to enter the new wave, similar to other countries such as Britain, Russia and some European countries.”

She added, “We are counting on the increase in the number of vaccinators, because the increase in numbers led to a decrease in critical and severe cases inside hospitals, and the vaccine prevents the risk of death and severity of infection or reaching the level of critical cases.”

She reiterated that “the vaccine cannot be tolerated, and even with taking the two doses, we must continue to adhere to preventive measures to avoid the emergence of any other new wave,” indicating that “the Ministry of Health has taken all its precautionary and preventive measures to delay or prevent the emergence of other new wave, by providing a sufficient number of medical beds and artificial respirators, as well as providing medical, diagnostic and therapeutic supplies related to the pandemic.

She explained, “The failure to adhere to the wearing of the masks, the failure to adhere to social distancing and the advent of winter, where respiratory diseases, influenza and colds are frequent, will expose the country to the emergence of another new wave or the same wave that we recently exited from” the “third wave”, meaning the same strain, but with an increase in the number of infections.”

She continued, saying, “The expectations of officials and consultants of the Public Health Department and experts of the World Health Organization indicate the possibility of entering another wave even with the high rates of vaccination,” noting that “the medical and health efforts made by the staff of the White Army aim to prevent the infected cases from reaching a critical situation and severe infections, leading to hospitalization.”
