Mohamed Salah Set to Arrive in Istanbul for Trabzonspor Transfer Talks

Istanbul: Turkish club Trabzonspor announces the arrival of Mohamed Salah today, Wednesday, in preparation for finalizing his transfer to their team. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the club revealed that the Egyptian football star will be landing at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport at 12:00 PM local time. Salah is expected to travel to Trabzon later in the day as part of the negotiations to bring him into the team. The announcement was made through Trabzonspor's official account on the American company "X" platform. The club mentioned that further details regarding Salah's reception in Trabzon will be shared via their official communication channels. Earlier, on Tuesday, Trabzonspor confirmed that negotiations with Salah were underway, describing the talks as being with the player as a free agent. However, the club has not provided specifics about the transfer fee, contract duration, or the current status of the discussions. Salah, who previously played for Liverpool, left the Premier League after a su ccessful nine-year tenure, where he garnered multiple team and individual accolades. Currently, he is vacationing in Greece after his involvement with the Egyptian national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. There have been several clubs reportedly interested in Salah, with Besiktas previously emerging as a frontrunner before talks stalled over agent commission issues. Additionally, Saudi Arabian clubs such as Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, and Al-Nassr, along with Sporting Kansas City in the United States, have also shown interest in signing the 34-year-old forward.
