Monaco Holds Top Spot in Ligue 1 After Draw with Strasbourg


Monaco: Monaco maintained its leadership in the French league standings after securing a 1-1 draw with Strasbourg during their Ligue 1 match on Saturday, marking the fourth round of the season. Strasbourg initially took the advantage in the 52nd minute when an unfortunate own goal by Monaco’s Sadio San© put them ahead. However, Monaco’s Paris Bruner leveled the score in the 71st minute, ensuring Monaco retained its top position in the league.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Monaco continues to lead the standings with 10 points, just ahead of Rennes based on goal difference. Strasbourg, on the other hand, is positioned in sixth place with a total of 7 points. In other matches from the same round, Paris FC and Lyon ended their game in a goalless draw, leaving both teams with 8 points. Lyon currently holds third place, with Paris FC trailing in fourth.



Meanwhile, Auxerre achieved a 1-0 victory over Nice, garnering their first three points of the season and advancing to thirteenth place. Nice remains at the bottom of the table with only two points. Additional matches saw Le Havre and Angers end in a 0-0 stalemate, while Lorient and Toulouse drew 2-2, further impacting the standings as the season progresses.
