Baghdad: A group of MPs announced, on Saturday, the collection of 112 signatures to reject the Khor Abdullah Agreement. They called on the Prime Minister to implement the Federal Court’s decision and submit it to the United Nations and the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and to approach the Kuwaiti side for renewed negotiations. The Iraqi negotiating team should be composed of specialized experts with extensive experience, without any political interference, and the negotiations should be held in Baghdad or in a neutral third country that complies with international norms.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the MPs emphasized the importance of adhering to the Federal Court’s decision as a foundation for any future discussions regarding the agreement. They urged the government to ensure that the negotiation process is transparent and involves individuals with relevant expertise to effectively represent Iraq’s interests.
