Baghdad: The Security Media Cell (SMC) announced on Monday that more than 4.8 million pilgrims have entered Iraq to commemorate the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the headquarters of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), which is affiliated with the Security Media Cell, issued a statement confirming the continuation of the security and service plan for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage. This plan is being carried out in coordination with all security, service, and support agencies to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims arriving in Iraq. The plan focuses on providing the highest levels of smooth flow through border crossings and main routes, with the direct support and supervision of the Prime Minister, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.

The updated statistics, as reported last night, indicate that the total number of pilgrims arriving in Iraq since the beginning of Muharram has reached 4,887,660. There is a continued influx of pilgrims from various countries to commemorate the Arba'een of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).

Security forces and supporting agencies are actively carrying out their field duties according to the established plans. These efforts are being supervised and monitored by the Supreme Committee for Million-Person Pilgrimages. The focus is on enhancing security, organizational, and service measures to accommodate the continuous increase in the number of pilgrims, ensuring a smooth flow and providing a safe and stable environment throughout the pilgrimage period.
