Baghdad, Independent and representatives MPs of various blocs announced that they had collected more than 80 signatures to submit an official request to host the Prime Minister in an emergency session on financial and economic policy and the rise in the exchange rate of the dollar against the dinar.

MP, Bassem Al-Gharabi said in a joint press conference today, Saturday, “Based on Article (61/Second) of the Constitution and Articles (27/Third, Eighth and Tenth) and Article (30) of the House of Representatives Law and its formations No. (13) of (2018) and Article (55) from the bylaw of the House of Representatives, and as a result of the devaluation of the dinar against the dollar during the past period and is still continuing until now in an unprecedented way, and because of this crisis’s clear negative impact on the economic and social situation of citizens as a result of those compelling circumstances and the high cost of living, we presented as representatives of the Iraqi people, 80 signatures attached to an official request to the Presidency of the House of Representatives to hold an emergency session to host the Prime Minister to clarify the policy of the Council of Ministers and its steps to solve the financial and economic crisis.
