Mosul: Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani affirmed that the city of Mosul is regaining its spirit and determination with the reconstruction of its historical landmarks, most notably Al-Nuri Mosque and Al-Hadba Minaret, which remain a testament to Iraq’s cultural and human heritage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Al-Nuri Mosque and Al-Hadba Minaret, Al-Sudani said, ‘The return of Al-Hadba represents a major victory over black terrorism,’ noting that ‘the terrorist attacks amounted to a demolition of values and humanity, but they ended in failure and bankruptcy.’

He added that ‘the reconstruction of the towering minaret and the majestic Al-Nuri Mosque sends a clear message to the enemies about Iraq’s strength and resilience against destruction,’ pointing out that the government embraces a cultural and civilizational vision that enhances the preservation of Iraq’s archaeological heritage.

The Prime Minister stressed that reconstruction will remain a milestone in confronting terrorism, affirming that those groups ‘ended in disgrace before the world.’

Al-Sudani also expressed his gratitude to the parties that contributed to restoring this historic landmark, particularly the United Arab Emirates and UNESCO.
