MP for the Coordination Framework: Recovering the looted money is the beginning of the end of corruption and holding the thieves of the people’s food accountable

Baghdad The MP of the Coordination Framework, Muhannad Al-Khazraji, said that the process of recovering the money looted by some government officials represents a step in the right direction to change the wrong paths in order to get rid of corruption and the corrupt.

He indicated in a statement: “The thefts that were recently revealed by some employees of Al-Kadhimi’s government reveal the extent of the destruction that has befallen state institutions, calling at the same time Al-Sudani government to hold all those involved accountable and recover the looted money according to legal methods.”

Al-Khazraji stressed that: “controlling the sources of the economy by corrupt indicates a catastrophic danger that threatens the lives of citizens who are suffering from an imminent level of poverty created by the corrupt.”

Al-Khazraji added that the Iraqi judiciary should take more responsible positions in the issue of recovering looted funds and confiscating the property of all parties involved in this file, adding at the same time that legal prosecutions should be at a high level, including the people who fled abroad.

He accused parties close to Al-Kadhimi and his entourage of working to establish economic mafias that took it upon themselves to steal millions of dollars by exploiting the transitional period that Iraq recently experienced, adding that the coming days will witness more corruption files with personalities who worked in the caretaker government cabin.
