Baghdad: Member of the Parliamentary Oil, Gas, and Natural Resources Committee, MP Ali Shaddad, has called for measures to protect oil institutions from international crises and challenges. In a press statement, Shaddad emphasized the urgent need to shield these entities from external pressures that threaten their stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Shaddad highlighted the issues of smuggling, fraud, and document forgery as critical factors contributing to a “structural collapse” within the Ministry of Oil. He pointed out that sanctions on certain oil institutions and businessmen, coupled with the manipulation of vital ministerial documents and the exposure of systematic smuggling operations, are significant threats to the ministry’s integrity.

Shaddad urged the relevant authorities to actively engage in preserving national wealth, ensuring the protection of oil institutions, and addressing the structural challenges faced by the Ministry of Oil. He stressed that these efforts are crucial to safeguarding Iraq’s oil wealth for the future.
