MPs Urge Al-Mashhadani, Al-Mandalawi, and Shakhwan Abdullah to Uphold Internal Regulations

Baghdad: MPs have called upon the Parliament Speaker, Al-Mashhadani, and his deputies, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi and Shakhwan Abdullah, to coordinate among themselves and adhere to the internal regulations of the House of Representatives.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, MP Haider Tariq Al-Shamkhi expressed concern during a joint press conference on Monday, highlighting the unexpected adjournment of a parliamentary session despite having a legal quorum. He labeled this as a clear breach of internal regulations by the Parliament Speaker, resulting in the disruption of important legislative processes.

Al-Shamkhi pointed out that such disruptions are detrimental to the House of Representatives and the interests of the people. He urged Al-Mashhadani and his deputies, Al-Mandalawi and Shakhwan Abdullah, to ensure better coordination in future sessions to prevent violations of the internal regulations.

He further emphasized the importance of coordination between the Parliament Speaker and his deputies, noting that their disagreements negatively impact parliamentary sessions, the passage of significant laws, and the attendance of representatives. Al-Shamkhi stressed the necessity for the agenda of upcoming sessions to address crucial laws, which number in the hundreds, to ensure the current legislative session is productive for both parliament and the Iraqi populace.
