Muqtada al-Sadr Highlights Iraq’s Role in Combating Sectarianism and Promoting Islamic Unity

Baghdad: The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, has declared that Iraq stands among the first Arab nations actively working to combat sectarianism and promote Islamic unity. His statement came in response to a question posed by one of his followers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Sadr expressed his belief that Iraq leads in efforts to ward off sectarian divides and foster Islamic unity, highlighting its historical significance as the capital of the Commander of the Faithful, Ali. He emphasized the teachings of Ali, who stated that people are either brothers in religion or equals in creation, advocating a concept of Islamic human unity that many followers have unfortunately neglected.
