Muscat International Book Fair Postponed Amid Regional Challenges

Muscat: Oman’s Minister of Information and Chairman of the Main Committee for the Muscat International Book Fair, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Harrasi, announced the postponement of the 30th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair, which was scheduled to take place from March 26 to April 5, 2026, to a later date to be announced.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Oman News Agency quoted Al-Harrasi as stating that the decision followed a comprehensive review of the current situation in the region and the considerations it imposes. The postponement aims to create the appropriate conditions for holding the event in a manner befitting its status as a significant cultural forum on both regional and international levels.

Dr. Al-Harrasi emphasized that the Main Committee prioritizes organizing the fair under optimal conditions to ensure its success and the success of its intellectual and cultural activities. The committee aims to guarantee the active and fruitful participation of local, Arab, and international publishing houses.
