Najaf:The Najaf Criminal Court has issued a death sentence against a drug trafficker.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council announced that the court found the individual guilty of trafficking narcotic substances, specifically methamphetamine and opium. The conviction was based on the possession of these substances with the intent to sell them to users.

The verdict was handed down in accordance with Article 27, Clause First, of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.
