Najaf: The Najaf Criminal Court has sentenced five individuals to life imprisonment following their conviction in a high-profile kidnapping case.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the court's decision was based on Articles 1/4 and 8/2 of the 2005 Anti-Terrorism Law. The convicted individuals were found guilty of abducting a citizen from the Al-Mishkhab area. They had demanded a ransom of 9 billion dinars from the victim's family.
