Najaf: Najaf Friday Prayer Imam and Preacher Sadr al-Din al-Qabanji has called on the Turkish government and the Kurdistan Regional Government to facilitate the entry of Turkish pilgrims by opening the borders in time for the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the call was made during a political sermon delivered by Al-Qabanji in Najaf. He highlighted the issue of 25 million Shiites in Turkey who have been unable to obtain entry visas to Iraq, urging the government to permit visitors for the religious event.

In his sermon, Al-Qabanji also addressed recent political developments in Lebanon, criticizing the Lebanese government’s decision to restrict arms to the state. He warned that this move effectively disarms Hezbollah and could authorize Israel to attack, suggesting a potential plan for an Israeli invasion of Lebanon. Al-Qabanji emphasized the importance of recognizing Hezbollah’s role in defending Lebanese territory during past conflicts with Israel.

Al-Qabanji further commented on US President Donald Trump’s recent call for the normalization of relations in the Middle East. He stated that this initiative would not succeed, citing Israel’s ongoing internal challenges as a barrier to such diplomatic efforts.
