Al-najaf: Al-Najaf Police Command announced the arrest of a number of individuals involved in the armed demonstration and random shooting that took place in a Najaf neighborhood yesterday, Saturday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Najaf Police said in a statement, “Based on the circulated video clips showing a number of individuals possessing weapons and randomly firing bullets in a neighborhood in the holy city of Najaf, the governorate’s police command took immediate action, arresting six of those involved. Legal actions were taken against them in accordance with arrest warrants issued by the judiciary.”

The statement added, “In the same context, legal actions were taken against some police units that were negligent in performing their duties, affirming the principle of accountability and not allowing any security negligence.”
