Baghdad: The Head of the National Defense University for Military Studies, Lieutenant General Aqeel Mustafa Mahdi, engaged in discussions with Major General Christoph Henze, the new Commander of the NATO Mission in Iraq, about bolstering academic and military cooperation. The meeting was attended by several university staff officers and members of Major General Henze’s delegation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination in training, exchanging expertise, and developing academic curricula. These efforts aim to improve the efficiency of teaching staff and support the capabilities of the Iraqi army, thereby enhancing its professional and academic performance.

During the meeting, Lieutenant General Aqeel Mustafa provided a comprehensive briefing that highlighted the University’s mission, strategic vision, and its academic and training structure. He emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with the NATO Mission to achieve mutual goals.

Major General Henze expressed gratitude for the hospitality received and reiterated the NATO Mission’s commitment to providing ongoing support and advice to the National Defense University. He affirmed the importance of continuing and strengthening the constructive cooperation between the two parties.
