Baghdad: The National Intelligence Council convened its sixth session of 2026 on Monday, presided over by National Security Advisor Qasim al-Aboudi, with the attendance of leaders from the intelligence community.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Council issued a press release stating that the agenda topics were reviewed, and necessary decisions and recommendations were made in alignment with directives from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. The session addressed critical issues such as currency counterfeiting and organized internal and transnational sabotage of sovereignty.
Furthermore, the Council discussed the use of smartphones and laptops as sources of forensic evidence, issuing necessary recommendations on these matters.
