Baghdad: National Security Service detachments seized 26 tons of prohibited food items and smuggled medicines in Baghdad. The Service stated in a press release that its detachments, after obtaining approval from the competent judge in Baghdad, seized two trucks arriving from the Al-Mundhiriya border crossing. The trucks were carrying forged customs documents containing descriptions that misrepresented the actual cargo, intended to conceal its true nature.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation resulted in the seizure of 26 tons of food items prohibited from import, and large quantities of smuggled human medicines that had not undergone official inspection. The seized items were intercepted as part of an ongoing effort to prevent illegal goods from entering the country and to safeguard public health.
