National Security Advisor and Foreign Minister Discuss New York Conference on Al-Hol Camp


Baghdad: The National Security Advisor, Qasim al-Araji, and Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein, have engaged in discussions concerning preparations for the upcoming New York conference focused on the al-Hol camp. The meeting underscored the significance of addressing the challenges associated with the camp.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting involved a comprehensive review of the latest regional developments, diplomatic strategies, and Iraq’s initiative to strengthen relations with both neighboring and friendly nations. The primary focus was on the preparations for the New York conference, aiming to resolve the al-Hol camp issue and facilitate the withdrawal of various countries’ nationals from the camp, ultimately leading to its closure.



Al-Araji acknowledged the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ pivotal role in bolstering the government’s foreign policy. He emphasized the importance of diplomatic engagement and dialogue to enhance regional and global security and stability.
