Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met with Russian Ambassador to Baghdad, Elbrus Kutrashev, to discuss ways to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Iraq and Russia.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the National Security Chancellery stated in a press release that al-Araji hosted Ambassador Kutrashev at his office. During the meeting, they explored prospects for enhancing bilateral cooperation, focusing on areas such as information and expertise exchange, counterterrorism, and support for regional security and stability.

The statement further detailed that the discussions included reviewing several issues related to intensifying security and intelligence cooperation. The aim is to address emerging challenges and support international efforts focused on promoting security and sustainable development in the region through reinforced diplomatic engagement and constructive dialogue.
