Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Aboudi confirmed on Thursday that the government of Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi has a comprehensive vision for combating corruption and restricting weapons. A statement from his media office indicated that Al-Aboudi received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Iraq, Alicia Rico Perez del Pulgar.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting addressed “strengthening friendly relations and cooperation in a way that serves the mutual interests of the two countries and their peoples, in addition to emphasizing the continuation of cooperation in the field of combating terrorism and exchanging information.”

Al-Aboudi noted that “Iraq is open to the international community and has partnerships with sisterly and friendly countries. It enjoys an active diplomacy aimed at enhancing the security and stability of the region and the world, and creating development opportunities that serve the interests and aspirations of the countries and peoples of the region and the world.”

Al-Aboudi affirmed that “Prime Minister Ali Faleh al-Zubaidi has a comprehensive vision that he is working to implement on the ground through combating corruption, restricting weapons to the state, developing the country’s economy, and improving the level of services provided to citizens.”

For her part, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain congratulated Al-Aboudi, praising “Iraq’s pivotal role in de-escalating tensions and stabilizing the situation in the region,” and expressing “her country’s readiness to expand areas of cooperation with Iraq on all levels.”
