Baghdad: The National Security Service detachments in Baghdad have successfully apprehended an ISIS terrorist known by the alias Abu Dhu al-Fiqar. The individual was wanted under the provisions of Article 4 of the Anti-Terrorism Law and was found attempting to evade capture by disguising himself as an alcohol vendor.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, investigations have revealed that the accused was involved in offensive operations targeting security forces in the region referred to as Nineveh Province. The suspect hails from a family known for embracing the Takfiri ideology, with his brothers, who were also affiliated with the terrorist organization, having been killed during liberation operations.
The statement from the National Security Service further disclosed that the accused had openly admitted to being assigned to work within ISIS's so-called Air Defense Division. This division is tasked with countering security forces' aircraft. The accused has now been referred to the competent judicial authorities to face legal proceedings and receive punishment in accordance with the law.
