Basra: The National Security Service announced today, Tuesday, the arrest of two international drug dealers. The arrests took place in Basra, where the Service managed to lure the suspects and seize quantities of crystal meth in their possession. The apprehended individuals confessed during the investigation to smuggling drugs from neighboring countries and maintaining associations with regional gangs. They were also involved in smuggling foreign workers.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation followed a three-month field surveillance effort, culminating in the arrest of one of the most prominent drug dealers in Anbar Governorate. This individual, known for his activities in the Ramadi district, was primarily engaged in the trade of narcotic pills. The Service, acting on judicial approvals, deployed a security force to arrest him red-handed, confiscating six thousand Captagon pills.

The accused was detained under Article 28 of the Narcotics legislation and has been placed in custody pending
the completion of the necessary legal procedures against him.
