Maysan: The National Security Service announced on Tuesday the arrest of one of the most wanted fugitives after an armed confrontation in the center of Maysan Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Service stated that National Security detachments were able to apprehend the suspect based on judicial arrest warrants. The suspect is wanted for several criminal offenses, including murder and robbery. After receiving precise intelligence about his whereabouts, National Security detachments immediately began their operation, confirming his location inside a restaurant in the city center of Amarah.

The statement added that the suspect attempted to flee at the start of the operation, using a pickup truck to ram one of the security forces' vehicles before opening fire on them in an attempt to obstruct the operation.

Despite this, the force managed to surround him, seize the vehicle, and arrest him. It was confirmed that the suspect was handed over to the competent investigative authorities to complete the legal procedures against him.
