Baghdad: The National Security Service in Baghdad announced the arrest of an armed person who threatened people on social media.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Service stated in a statement, “The National Security Service in Baghdad, after obtaining the necessary judicial approvals, was able to arrest an individual who appeared in a video clip on social media carrying a silencer, accompanied by armed elements, and making direct threats against unidentified individuals.”

The statement continued, “Our security detachments, after careful and intensive monitoring of the matter and activating intelligence and technical efforts, were able to accurately identify the accused, reach his location, and arrest him in accordance with legal procedures.”

It added, “The accused was referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary measures against him.”
