Nechirvan Barzani and Muthanna al-Samarrai Deliberate on Iraq’s Political Landscape.


Erbil: President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, engaged in discussions with Muthanna al-Samarrai, a prominent member of the House of Representatives and head of the Azm Alliance parliamentary bloc, in Erbil on Wednesday. The meeting, held in Barzani’s office, centered around the general conditions of Iraq, the Kurdistan Parliament elections, the relationship between Erbil and Baghdad, and the forthcoming general elections in the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Samarrai extended his congratulations to Nechirvan Barzani for the successful conduct of the Kurdistan Parliament elections. Both leaders commended the ongoing dialogue between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi federal government aimed at resolving outstanding issues. They concurred that addressing these issues would benefit the entirety of Iraq and contribute to the nation’s stability.

Additionally, the talks highlighted the potential risks stemming from the complex geopolitical situation in the Middle
East. Barzani and al-Samarrai underscored the necessity of keeping Iraq insulated from regional conflicts to prevent adverse repercussions on the country.
