Erbil: Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani sent a congratulatory message on Tuesday to Mojtaba Ali Khamenei on his election as Supreme Leader of Iran, expressing his wishes for success in his new role.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Barzani stated: “We congratulate you on your election as Supreme Leader and extend our warmest congratulations to you and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran. We wish you success in this new responsibility.”

Barzani emphasized the Kurdistan Region’s commitment to further developing bilateral relations, stressing that “the Kurdistan Region, as always, looks forward to strengthening the historical and friendly relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a way that serves the interests of both peoples and peaceful coexistence in the entire region.”
