Baghdad: Nechirvan Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, extended his congratulations to Nouri al-Maliki on his nomination as Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Iraq during a phone call on Sunday evening.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Nechirvan Barzani expressed his support for al-Maliki, wishing him success in his future duties and responsibilities. Barzani emphasized the importance of forming a government that reflects the aspirations and hopes of all Iraqi citizens and is capable of facing the challenges ahead.

Nouri al-Maliki, in response, conveyed his gratitude and appreciation for the call and Barzani’s congratulations.
