Tehran: The President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, traveled to the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Saturday, to attend a "consultative meeting" organized by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Kurdistan Region Presidency announced in a statement that Barzani's visit to Tehran follows his recent visit to the Iraqi capital, Baghdad. The visit to Tehran is at the official invitation of the Iranian President to participate in a consultative meeting aimed at enhancing dialogue and regional cooperation.

The statement highlighted that Barzani's participation in the meeting is intended to support the Kurdistan Region's efforts to foster dialogue and cooperation among countries and peoples in the region. The overarching goals include achieving stability, peace, economic integration, and peaceful coexistence.

As part of the visit's agenda, Barzani is expected to share his vision for the future of the region, emphasizing the significance of joint cooperation grounded in mutual respect and shared interests. Additionally, Barzani will engage with senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran to discuss the relations between Iran, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the broader situation in the region.
