New Generation Movement Declines Participation in Kurdish Blocs Meeting

Erbil: The New Generation Movement has officially announced its decision not to participate in the upcoming meeting of Kurdish blocs, which is scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday. The meeting was called by the Kurdistan Democratic Party President, Masoud Barzani.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the New Generation Movement clarified their stance in a statement, emphasizing their non-participation in gatherings of this nature. The movement highlighted that they were invited as a significant force with seats and influence. However, they have chosen to abstain from attending any party meeting outside the framework of the Kurdistan Parliament.

The statement further elaborated on the movement’s viewpoint that the Kurdistan Parliament is the legitimate representative of the people of Kurdistan, having been elected by them. They stressed the importance of activating the role of Parliament and declared that any meeting at the level of Kurdish parties should be held within the Parliament. The New Generation parliamentary bloc is willing to participate only under the dome of Parliament and refuses to attend meetings held in any other location.
