Karbala: A Nigerian visitor in her mid-twenties gave birth to a baby boy at the Karbala Maternity and Gynecology Teaching Hospital. She named him Ali, during her first visit to the governorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the case supervisor, gynecologist and obstetrician Dr. Faiza Hussein, reported that the 25-year-old woman arrived at the emergency department after experiencing labor pains while visiting the holy shrines. At the time, she was nine months pregnant. Medical examinations indicated no movement of the fetus. Following an evaluation of her condition, she was referred and transferred immediately to the operating room. She underwent a successful caesarean section lasting about an hour, during which she gave birth to her baby boy.
Dr. Hussein noted that both the mother and her child were discharged from the hospital in good health.
