Basra: A member of the Oil, Gas, and Natural Resources Committee, MP Ali Shaddad, confirmed that nine tankers have docked at the port of Basra to export Iraqi oil to global markets. This development marks a significant event for the Basra port, which is a key location for the loading and exporting of Iraqi crude oil.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Shaddad highlighted that the arrival of five tankers, with an additional four waiting, represents the largest gathering of tankers at the port since last February. He emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination with Iran to ensure safe passage for these tankers as they carry crude oil to international destinations.

Shaddad also noted concerns regarding any potential disruptions in tanker traffic through the Strait of Hormuz, which could adversely affect Iraq’s oil exports and financial revenues. He urged for solutions to be pursued through governmental and diplomatic efforts to mitigate any such risks.
