Nineveh: The Nineveh Elections Office has reported that it has not received any official communications from Baghdad concerning the disqualification of candidates for the upcoming provincial elections, other than two cases linked to educational certificate issues.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Sufyan al-Mashhadani, Director of Elections Media in Nineveh, stated that only two candidates have been disqualified so far due to non-compliance with educational certificate requirements. Al-Mashhadani emphasized that the verification process is still underway and that no further disqualifications have been officially announced by the Independent High Electoral Commission or the central government.

Al-Mashhadani clarified that the two excluded candidates consist of one male and one female, and both were disqualified because their educational certificates did not meet the necessary criteria. He assured that the Elections Office continues its routine operations, meticulously reviewing candidates’ submissions to ensure they meet legal and electoral standards.

He further stated that the office is collaborating closely with the Independent High Electoral Commission in Baghdad to maintain the integrity of the elections in Nineveh. The Elections Office is committed to monitoring all procedures to ensure that the electoral process proceeds as scheduled, and will promptly announce any updates from Baghdad regarding the elections.
