Nineveh: Nineveh Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil engaged in discussions with Ambassador Mohammed Al-Hassan, the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq and Head of the UNAMI Assistance Mission, about enhancing collaboration between the governorate and United Nations organizations in multiple sectors.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussions led to the announcement of an imminent contract signing for several strategic and development projects with the United Nations. A key highlight of these projects is the reconstruction of the Great Mosque of Nineveh, emphasizing the commitment to revitalize important cultural and historical landmarks.

Both Al-Dakhil and Al-Hassan demonstrated their solidarity with the families affected by the tragic fire in the city of Kut. They honored the memory of the victims by reciting Surat Al-Fatihah. Their participation in the Friday prayers at the Prophet Sheet Mosque and the funeral prayer in absentia underscored their support for the victims and their families.
