Nineveh Governor Inaugurates Mar Thoma Cathedral After Rehabilitation


Nineveh: Nineveh Governor Abdul Qadir al-Dakhil inaugurated the Mar Thoma Syriac Orthodox Cathedral in the Old City of Mosul after its rehabilitation.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Dakhil indicated the ongoing efforts to rebuild churches and monasteries, establish a Christian cultural center, and allocate land for members of this authentic community. He explained that “the inauguration of the cathedral represents great joy for the people of Nineveh, as it is one of the oldest churches in Iraq and a symbol of coexistence and diversity.”



Al-Dakhil called on Christians to cling to their land and participate in the rebuilding of their historic city.
