Nineveh Health Department Resumes Open-Heart Surgeries for Children in Mosul


Mosul: The Nineveh Health Department has announced the resumption of open-heart surgeries for children at the research centers of the University of Mosul. This initiative is undertaken with the collaboration of a specialized Turkish medical team.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Director General of Nineveh Health, Dr. Dilshad, stated that this move is aimed at providing specialized medical care and addressing complex congenital heart defects in children. Dr. Dilshad emphasized the importance of this initiative in offering treatment to young patients not only from Nineveh but also from all Iraqi governorates, marking a significant step in the development of specialized medical services in the region.



Dr. Dilshad highlighted the role of the participation of specialized medical teams in enhancing local medical expertise. He noted that this collaboration will enable the treatment of complex cases within Iraq, reducing the need for patients to seek medical attention abroad.
