Baghdad: North Korea criticized Japan’s recent defense buildup on Monday, warning that it “could make Tokyo a target for strong retaliation from neighboring countries.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Japan launched its sixth Taigi-class attack submarine and mass-produced an upgraded 12-ton surface-to-ship missile. The publication highlighted Japan’s plans to bolster its defense as a means of “preemptive strike,” suggesting that the range of these weapons systems extends far beyond Japan, reaching other countries. The newspaper described the development as a “dangerous” act.
The article further warned that such actions will “only make the archipelago a common target for strong retaliation from neighboring countries,” emphasizing the potential regional consequences of Japan’s defense strategies.
